Rules:
Exmoor ponies - Open to all Exmoor ponies registered with the Exmoor Pony Society, or registered/passported anywhere else - ie, they can be pedigree-registered, Section-X registered, Heritage-registered, purebred or Exmoor Type, etc. Please check the various classes to ensure correct entry category. Ponies will be judged according to the Exmoor pony breed standard and the judge’s decision is final. Bitless bridles, head collars and halters are allowed. No spurs. Please also see the general rules of Brendon Show.
 

Prizes and Prize Money: 
There will be rosettes awarded to sixth place, championship rosettes and sashes and various trophies. 
The MEPBG Supreme Champion will win £100 and the MEPBG Reserve Supreme Champion will win £25, kindly sponsored by The Molland Estate.

MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND CLASSES
(Exmoor ponies will be accepted into the Mountain & Moorland classes and can also compete in the MEPBG Exmoor Pony Show classes and championships. Both M&M and MEPBG Supreme Champion will go forward to Brendon Show Supreme Championship.)

CLASS 2 M&M IN HAND – Large and small (including Exmoor ponies)

Best Moorbred Exmoor rosette for classes 1 & 2. Best Exmoor rosettes for classes 1 and 2.
1st & 2nd from classes 1 & 2 to compete for the Mountain & Moorland Championship. Summerfold Cup for the best M&M exhibit. Champion to go forward to the Brendon Show Supreme Championship. 
Best Exmoor from Class 1 goes forward for the MEPBG Supreme Championship. Best Exmoor from Class 2 goes forward for the MEPBG In Hand Championship. Best moorbred Exmoors in classes 1 & 2 eligible for the MEPBG Moorbred Championship. AH Saddles Trophy to Best Ridden Exmoor, to be presented in the MEPBG Supreme Championship - pony must attend to receive. 

MEPBG EXMOOR PONY IN HAND CLASSES 
Class 3 - Unhandled Exmoor Ponies - suitable stock to be shown in their secure pens and judged from outside. Mares and foals, youngstock and other ponies that people would prefer to exhibit in a pen. Entries in advance only by 7 August. Please contact Mrs Maria Floyd to discuss the logistics of entering this class. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to this class at any time. Rosettes for: Best Mare; Best Foal; Best Mare & Foal combination; Best Yearling/2 year old. Best Moorbred rosette. 
MEPBG Overall Unhandled Champion - The Porlock Herd 100 Trophy (Champion goes forward to the MEPBG Supreme Championship - and it can be a foal). MEPBG Reserve Unhandled Champion rosette.

Class 4 - Pedigree-registered Exmoors - colt, fillies and geldings - 1-3 year olds
Best Moorbred rosette.


Class 5 - Pedigree-registered Exmoors - stallions, geldings and mares (with or without foal at foot) - 4 years and over. 
Best Moorbred rosette and Best Foal rosette.

Class 6 - Purebred (non-pedigree) Exmoors & Exmoor Type - any age. 
Rosette to Best Youngstock. Best Moorbred rosette.

The MEPBG (established in Jan 2014) is a collaboration of Exmoor farming families and land owners safeguarding the pedigree and purebred Exmoor ponies of Exmoor National Park, improve breeding practices and management, promotion, marketing, handling and opportunities for the ponies. Exmoor ponies make fantastic conservation grazers, performance and family ponies for adults as well as children. Living and breeding on Exmoor enables the ponies to retain their desired True Moorland Type. The Exmoor Pony Project (www.wildponywhispering.co.uk ) helps to give Exmoor pony foals and ponies good opportunities in life as well as helping to educate, support and promote improved handling, training and care of ponies. RULES OF BRENDON SHOWGROUND 

1. The Judge’s decision is final. 
2. No galloping and disorderly behavior allowed.
 3. Horse and pony judging will begin at 10am sharp, classes will carry on from there.
 4. Dog judging will begin at 12 noon sharp, classes will carry on from there.
 5. Anyone lodging an objection must deposit £20.00 with the secretary. This must be done within 20 minutes of the incident. The deposit will be returned if the objection is upheld. 
6. The Committee will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to any person, property or exhibit by accident or otherwise. 
 7. All prize-winners must collect and sign for the cups in the secretary horsebox before leaving the show. All cups must be engraved and returned to the show the following year, clean and tidy and ready to be presented.
 8. Hard hats must be worn at all times when mounted. No whips or spurs to be worn in the Gymkhana events. Bitless bridles will allowed in all horse and pony classes.
 9. No horse or pony under the age of 4 years to be exhibited under saddle. 
10. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times. 
11. Disclaimer: The organiser has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all the officials and stewards.
 12. Brendon Show cannot be held responsible for any pictures or footage posted to external websites and social media websites or other internet or media. By entering the show-ground, you accept that the show reserves the right to use pictures and footage to promote the show.
